2nd Annual North Central Geocachers Get Together
Went to a geocaching eat and greet in Bemidji on November 23.
We had a great time and got to meet with old friends and got to
meet some new ones. It was at Perkins.

Earlier in the day we reached a milestone of 400 caches at
(Do not try this at home. Remember, I'm a trained professional,
do not stick a metal spike in your mouth in the winter. Think
of the kid and the pole in the movie Christmas Story).

Night Geocaching
Went night geocaching in Bemidji and Blackduck on October 25th.
Here is our log entry from Night Owl GC1BHR8:
When we left Bemidji for the trip north for this cache a big gust of wind and rain hit us. It soon disappeared as got down the road. This was going to be our second night cache of the night and we were thinking that it could be a cold and wet search. The group tonight was me (ET), The Hipster, and the Roylake special guest stars: Brothers Jeff and Ed (not my brothers) and former Geo-Intern Penny.
When we arrived the clouds cleared and the stars were shining. Inside the trees it was rather nice; maybe the dozen flashlights (at least 4 Momandson2006 models) had something to do with the warmth! It was a good omen from Mother Nature that we were going to be successful.
As the search went on it became apparent that great thought went into the placement of each reflector. We found the 1st stage and gave no thought of giving up; this was way too much fun. We arrived at the second stage start and found the first reflector. Brothers Jeff and Ed are very competitive and each wanted to be the one to lead the way. I’ve never seen two people do a full sprint in the middle of unknown dark woods before.
The final reflector was found and a mad search for the cache was underway. Ed located it and was jumping for joy. Not quite the FTF dance, but pretty close. Ed got the 2nd to find prize (a Momandson2006 flashlight). I forgot my swag at the cabin and left 4 quarters for the next finder. Night caching with a group was a blast!
You can’t go wrong looking for a Momandson2006 hide. The Night Owl was a hoot!! Thanks for all of your thought and work that went into this cache hide.
The Hipster, Ed, Jeff and Penny signing the log.
