Hockey Day USA 2008!

Saturday was Hockey Day USA.

Hayden and Reese were in town for the long weekend. Hayden is a member of the Fighting Sioux Kid's Club so we checked out the open skate at the Ralph practice rink with the UND Fighting Sioux Women's hockey team on Saturday. The Hockey players were great and the Boy's had loads of fun with them.

On Sunday the boy's stayed at the Canad Inn and played in the water park.

Snowmobile Race

Joneens nephews Jakob and Marcus had a snowmobile race in Grand Forks this weekend.
So we had to check it out and cheer them on.

Jakob took first in Formulas and won a few more trophies. Marcus won one trophy.

Minnesota Vs. UND

We took Jakob and Marcus to the UND Womens Hockey game. It was the Minnesota Golden Gophers Vs. the UND Fighting Sioux. The Gophers went on to win 2-1.

Jo's Dad and Mom have to spend about 6 weeks at Parkwood Place this winter. So we (and the rest of her family) have been spending some time there helping them pass the time.

Fighting Sioux Womens Hockey

Ohio State Buckeyes Vs. UND Fighting Sioux

I took Ed and his boys Hayden and Reese to a UND Womens Hockey game.
The Sioux lost 3-2. The boys had a great time. They love Hockey!!!

Butcher Shop

You got to like taking a trip to a real butcher shop. The box store meat departments are just not the same. The smells here are great! The only meat only store in town is L&M Meats or as most people call it Laddies.

Jo and I took a trip to laddies a couple of weeks ago.

Look at all that good smoked ham and turkey.

Monster Truck Thunder Slam

The Monster Trucks were in town on January 12th and of course we had to check them out. Ed, Hayden, Jon, Marcus, Jakob and myself went to check out the action at the Alerus Center. Of course, I forgot my earplugs!
