Tire Trouble

When we were up in Langdon, Jo's brother made a comment (make that a jinx) about her needing new tires. She knew that new tires were needed, but was holding off trying to find a new car that she liked. On our way out of town at loud noise came from under the car. Jo pulled over and I looked at the tires. Took a look and could see no flats, so I got down and felt the tires, Och!, my finger got pricked by some steel, Oops! Looks like a trip back into town. Good thing we were only 2 miles out.

We saw Jo's brother on the way in and gave him a call. He said that he would make a call and to see if anyone would come in and fix it for us. He called back and said that Rhonda would meet us at Universal Parts in 5 minutes. We pulled into the shop and met Rhonda. She pulled the tire off and holy cow! Yes indeedy we sure in needy of a some new tires. I knew they were getting worn, but did not realize they were this bad. They only have 45,000 miles on them. I suppose that 6 years of North Dakota weather did them in.

It's a good thing they did not blow on the interstate at 75mph. Since Rhonda happened to have a set of 4 new tires the correct size, Jo decided to get them all replaced. Funny thing is that the car no longer makes that strange noise anymore. This was probably not what Rhonda thought that she would be doing on mothers day, but we were very grateful to her for helping us out.

If you ever find yourself in need of a tire in Langdon stop by Universal Parts. If it's after hours the contact number is on the front door.

Check out the missing rubber.

Another bad tire.
